Skinology is led by an incredibly talented team of board-certified nurse practitioners, medical aestheticians, and technicians specializing in cutting-edge cosmetic treatments. Our medical providers have decades of collective experience within the aesthetic medicine industry, and they leverage their skills, talents, artistic instincts, and experience to ensure safe and naturalized results for all patients.

Skinology is dedicated to restoring generational health and confidence. Our team is led by Elaine Williams, a board-certified and dermatology-certified nurse practitioner with over 10 years of experience in the dermatology space. She has an intimate understanding of skin and hair and follows a holistic approach to address the root cause of your cosmetic concerns, ensuring you look and feel youthful and vibrant from the inside out.

Skinology believes aesthetic medicine is for everyone, regardless of gender or age. “When I founded Skinology, my vision was to create an environment that offers patients a way to live their best lives. To reduce the complications of illness that cause so many of us to sacrifice the things that once brought us joy. My goal is to optimize your health and wellness and help you live your best life yet.”

Elaine is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and a specialist in hormone optimization. She is trained and certified through world-renowned hormone specialist Dr. Neal Rouzier. Hormone optimization is her passion and the reason she chose to start Skinology.

Prior to working in the field of hormones, Elaine spent over 10 years in the dermatology space. She has extensive experience in the treatment of acne and hair loss and is a certified hair coach through Bauman Medical. She specializes in all aspects of aesthetic procedures, most notably in the delivery of neuromodulators such as Botox and Xeomin.

Elaine is a member of Worldink Medical and board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her Master’s degree through Upstate Medical University College of Nursing where she graduated with honors and was invited to Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Julie Turner

FNP

Julie Turner, MSN, FNP-C, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in advanced aesthetic medicine and regenerative treatments. With 5 years of experience in medical aesthetics, Julie is passionate about helping patients achieve natural, refreshed results through customized treatment plans designed to enhance facial harmony, restore volume, and support long-term skin health.

Julie specializes in cosmetic injectables including neurotoxins such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, as well as dermal fillers, and biostimulators including Sculptra and Radiesse. Her background also includes advanced skin rejuvenation procedures such as CO2 laser resurfacing, Morpheus8 RF microneedling, IPL photofacials, and microneedling treatments.

Known for her gentle approach, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety, Julie focuses on creating balanced, natural-looking results that help patients feel confident and refreshed without appearing overdone. She believes aesthetic medicine should enhance each patient’s unique features while maintaining authenticity and facial harmony.

Julie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences at Rockhurst University and continues to pursue advanced training in aesthetics.

Minea Akbal

Medical Esthetician

Minea Akbal is a passionate Medical Esthetician dedicated to helping clients feel confident and beautiful both inside and out. She graduated from Aveda Fredric’s Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2016 and began her career in aesthetics shortly after. In 2017, Minea moved to Tampa, Florida, to pursue her passion in the medical spa industry, where she continued to grow her expertise in advanced skincare treatments and client care.

Committed to continuing her education, Minea returned to school in 2018 to earn her Electrolysis license from Beauty & Health Institute in Tampa, Florida. She loves building lasting relationships with her clients and creating personalized treatment experiences that leave them feeling refreshed, radiant, and confident.

She specializes in advanced skincare treatments, including HydraFacial, Custom facials, laser therapies, dermaplaning, chemical peels, and microneedling. Outside of the treatment room, Minea loves hanging out with her two kitty cats, shell collecting, being outside in nature, and wearing her SPF, of course!

Michaela Howard

Customer Service and Patient Care

Michaela Howard came to Skinology with a passion for customer service and patient care. Her bubbly and warm personality makes our patients feel welcomed and supported through their aesthetic and hormone journey. Prior to working here, she was a patient care coordinator at a Hormone clinic in Orlando. Her understanding and knowledge make her the perfect point of contact for our patients to feel well taken care of. BHRT is a journey, and she is here to help you every step of the way! Michaela is a firm believer in “Movement is Medicine”. Back in 2021, she earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through the Yoga Alliance. You can find her outdoors exploring and living her best life!

Nicole Lovat

MD, PhD

Nicole Lovat MD, PhD is a physician, educator, and author born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. She graduated First Class Double Honors in Biochemistry and Physics, and went on to concurrently earn both an MD and PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, specializing in insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and pregnancy.

Nicole has practiced full-spectrum medicine—including ICU and Emergency Care— and has served remote and underserved communities. She has worked with the Mayo Clinic, been an instructor for residency programs such as Providence Health, and taught at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Now based in the Midwest, she co-founded FireflyMedical and currently holds positions at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and continues to publish in the field of hormone health. Nicole teaches hormone education and esthetic procedures internationally and uses patient-centered, evidence-based approaches as the cornerstone for her patients to achieve lasting wellness.
